Open House Festival Bangor returns this August with a month-long celebration of local talent, local people, local food and local business – plus an eclectic international lineup. This is the fifth year of Open House in Bangor and, with 141 events in 42 venues over 31 days. It is the Festival’s most ambitious and creative programme yet.

The summer scheme will include arts and crafts, a choice of sports coached by local football, rugby and gymnastic coaches, baking, outdoor excursions, day and afternoon trips as well as visits and talks from RNLI, Creepy Crawlies, the Ark Farm and many more. The scheme will also make use of the park and attractions and attending children will receive a summer pass for Pickie. To celebrate the end of summer and the scheme coming to an end there will also be a party at the park on Saturday 26th August.

The Convention started in 1937 and seeks to promote and support Christian Missionary work across the world. While there are one or two events in the UK with a similar emphasis there are none which run beyond a few days over a weekend and so we can reasonably claim to be the largest event of this type in the UK. One of our regular speakers would argue that we are unique in Europe.
