Native and Traditional Breeds Weekend

Organised in partnership with the Traditional Farm Livestock Foundation, the activity filled weekend will give visitors the opportunity to get up close to traditional breeds of cattle, horses, pigs, poultry and sheep. Throughout the weekend Vaughn Byrne from the Traditional Farm Livestock Foundation will be on hand to offer live commentary on the history of the various animals including how they came to be such important traditional breeds. Visitors can also purchase a range of goods at the many craft stalls and there’s even a poultry auction on Saturday.

The Convention started in 1937 and seeks to promote and support Christian Missionary work across the world. While there are one or two events in the UK with a similar emphasis there are none which run beyond a few days over a weekend and so we can reasonably claim to be the largest event of this type in the UK. One of our regular speakers would argue that we are unique in Europe.
